Deception Pass, Oak Harbor and S’mores

We left Orcas Island and Rosario around 11am this morning and pushed on past Lopez Island all the way through Lopez Pass and on to Deception Pass.  The crossing was smooth and thankfully fog-free.  Going through the pass was like a giant log-chute with Ishi going over 10 knots through the narrows.  This with the tide running relatively little.  The tides can run up to 6-7 knots but I think they we only running 2-3 when we were under the bridge.  We would have taken photos of us passing through the bridge but there was a rather brave boat trying to fight the tide and make it out the other way.

We then headed down to Oak Harbor with a quiet sunset, grilled chicken dinner and s’mores on the charcoal embers.
