OK, working with Jack again…this may well be called the ‘How-much-longer-vase’ due Jack repeatedly asking this while we were cutting out all the fiddly edge pieces. So far we are part way through the process, the important firing is today and involves fusing this on a wavy-edged drop mold (so it will look similar to this). This involves heating the glass to a temperature at which the middle will sag/drop through a hole in a ceramic ring mold. So far its looking great – fingers crossed that we can get the final stage right.
The first photo shows us putting the white and orange squares onto a disc of transparent glass. The second is post-fusing (the orange darkens to red during the firing process).
