Shortly after leaving Port Townsend we hit fog and spent the next 3 hours watching the radar and dodging tanker ships. Rather stressful passage this time but great to have the new radar and chart plotter without which it would have been a total nightmare. It felt like at any moment the Flying Dutchman was going to appear out of the thick fog. Rather incredibly the fog cleared once we were a few miles out from the Islands and, by the time we approached the channel between San Juan and Lopez Islands, it was completely clear and getting hot in the sunshine.
We stayed two nights in Fisherman Bay with the boys catching fish and fooling around on the dock with other kids.
